SALZBURG=MOZART International Chamber Music Competition 2019 in Tokyo is
to discover great talented ensembles and give them the opportunities to expose themselves at world numerous venues.

•Applicants must submit 10-20 minutes chamber music works including the works of Mozart and may be asked to perform selections from your repertoire on the day of the competition.
•If there is no original Mozart works in applicants’ instrumentation, they do not have to perform Mozart.
•Applicants can perform transcription works
•Include only complete movements or complete works (no excerpts)
•Strings, Woodwind and Piano Duo to Octet
•Piano Duet EXCEPT FOR 2 Pianos
For International Applicants
・You are responsible for obtaining your passport and visa as well as booking your trip to Japan (including flight tickets and accommodations).
・You must apply for your visa by yourself if necessary.
Q. Do you have a pre-screening audition?
A. No. We have a live competition in Tokyo.
Q. Does the competition have rounds ? If there are rounds, how many rounds will there be?
A. No. We have one-round competition. Your group will perform once. Your group can select the competition date.
Q.Do we need to prepare whole movements of Mozart ?
A. You can perform one or whole movements of Mozart. You can combine other composer’s works .
[Example] Mozart: Piano Trio K. 254 1st movement (6 min. ), Brahms: Piano Trio No.1 1st movement (11min.)
Q. Do you have warm-up room in Yamaha Ginza? Is there any place to practice in Ginza?
A. No. However, there is a English-Friendly studio, 30 minutes from Yamaha Ginza by Toei Oedo Line (Subway) .
Q. Can we pay the application fee by credit card or check?
No. We only accept cash. Please bring exactly 28,000 yen with you on the day of the audition.
